About Jon Torp

After earning a Master’s degree from the USC School of Cinematic Arts, Jon worked in the Hollywood community as a writer/producer on a wide variety of TV shows, in addition to writing a number of film scripts. He also worked as a senior account executive with The Klinger Group, a Los Angeles based marketing and public relations agency where he honed his skills in strategic marketing, inter-industry networking and most of all, client service.

Jon partnered with his wife Mimi in real estate in 1998, just prior to the birth of their daughter, Emily. His desire to offer an additional layer of support to Mimi’s longtime clients was his impetus in shifting from the world of “intangible” to “tangible” properties. Jon is gratified to now share so many exceptional past and present clients.

His long-time interest and commitment to the ever evolving internet has led Jon to be fully immersed in website development and digital video production. He fully embraces and implements all the most cutting-edge real estate marketing resources. Many colleagues seek Jon’s expertise, and his clients benefit from this knowledge and experience as well.

Jon attributes his years in the entertainment industry for helping him develop insightful empathy for the special needs, incredible pressures and extreme time restraints confronting today’s home buyers and sellers.

Jon and his Partner/Wife, Mimi, were a TOP PRODUCING TEAM for Gibson International and are now grateful to be part of the exceptional Compass Team.

A long time Santa Monica Resident, Jon currently resides in Mar Vista with Mimi and ambitious Beagle mix, Benji. He’s proud to have coached his daughter’s YWCA basketball team and coached/managed and was web master for her AYSO Soccer teams.

Jon is also an ardent supporter of the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and a regular platelet donor at the UCLA Blood and Platelet Center. He enthusiastically encourages others to contribute to these two essential programs as the need has never been more urgent.

While working behind the camera, Jon also did some acting.  During that time he had the good fortune to do a TV pilot with the late/great Robin Williams.  If you're curious to see a much younger Jon (with hair), here's a clip from that show.
