About Jon Torp
Following successful careers in Public Relations and the Entertainment Industry, Jon Torp’s diverse background in sales support, marketing and the Internet/communications media provides his clients with the real estate advantage they so richly deserve.
Prior to practicing real estate, Jon served as senior account executive with The Klinger Group, a Los Angeles based marketing and public relations agency. During his seven-year tenure, Jon honed those special skills that greatly benefit his real estate clients: strategizing marketing plans, inter-industry networking and most of all, client service.
With a Master’s degree from USC Cinema, Jon’s diverse background includes working in the Hollywood community as a writer/producer on a wide variety of TV shows. In addition, Jon has written a number of Television pilots and feature film scripts.
This hands-on experience and attention to detail has given him an insightful empathy for the special needs, incredible pressures and extreme time restraints confronting The Torp’s extensive entertainment industry clientele -- and as a result has produced a remarkably loyal and appreciative client base.
An accomplished Web Consultant and Designer, Jon has the working expertise and resources to fully tap the most cutting-edge real estate marketing resources available.
A concerned environmentalist, Jon co-developed, created and sponsors the highly successful “Environ-Medals” program at a number of Westside Elementary schools. This program rewards kids with an “Environ-Medal” for successfully completing a series of Earth Friendly tasks. This Award Winning program has been featured in the local media and on CNN’s Headline News. More information about this program can be found at EnvironMedals.com.
Jon and his Partner/Wife, Mimi, were a TOP PRODUCING TEAM for Gibson International and are now happy to be part of the Compass Team.
A long time Santa Monica Resident, Jon currently resides in Mar Vista with Mimi, their daughter, Emily, and ambitious Beagle, Rocky. He’s proud to have coached his daughter’s YWCA basketball team and coached/managed and was web master for her AYSO Soccer teams.
Jon is also a regular platelet donor at the UCLA Blood and Platelet Center. He enthusiastically encourages others to do the same as the need has never been more urgent.
While working behind the camera, Jon also did some acting. During that time he had the good fortune to do a TV pilot with the late/great Robin Williams. If you're curious to see a much younger Jon (with hair), here's a clip from that show.
